Like many of the men who settle the American West after the Civil War, Karl is a hard working, God fearing man. His tale is one of risk taking adventures, cattle drives, ranching, romance and the settling of a close knit family on the rugged plains of the old American West. Author Newman Young has both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education degree from Midwestern State University where he was a four year letterman in football. He then served for thirty-nine years as an educator in the Texas public school system and held the positions of coach, teacher, principal and superintendent. Today he lives in Wichita Falls, Texas. He is also the author of Circle the Wagons, a collection of public school experiences published by Outskirts Press.
