Homeboy Seasoned but shy boxer Johnny Walker (Academy Award® nominee Mickey Rourke, The Wrestler) faces the toughest battle of his life, as his time in the ring draws to a close. With ongoing health concerns and his professional career slipping away, he seeks a new start at Asbury Park, New Jersey. But the lure of the boxing world is never far away and charismatic promoter Wesley Pendergrass (Academy Award® winner Christopher Walken, The Deer Hunter) seizes an opportunity to bring Johnny into his fold. Meeting up with attractive boardwalk operator Ruby (Debra Feuer) Johnny’s prospects begin to improve, but when Wesley makes an offer he can’t refuse Johnny is forced to choose between a life of crime and the woman he loves.
