Since her husband Mark's death, traveling had given Rhea the courage to face life and not be afraid of new relationships without feeling guilt realizing that life does go on. And after what she called her "Ducks on the Stream" were gone, the memories lingered giving her a feeling of life's fulfillment. Then she found another goal and it was to find more about herself and to watch her son forge his life-so another adventure began. It was a journey to visit the country where her Swedish father was born as well as her Swedish grandparents. It was also was a mission to acquaint her son with his grandparents. She wanted to learn about her Nordic traits, i.e. why she loved forests, lakes and the outdoors. Why she liked to ski and why winter was one of her favorite times of the year. She knew it had a lot to do with her father because she was so much like him. It was a new focus in her life. But little did Rhea know when they made the trip to Scandinavia what encounters would follow her back home to the United States. She had accepted what getting older was probably going to be like without giving it much thought because she was still reaching out for life. And after a time of life filled with special memories and no regrets, she now looked forward to watching her son succeed and forge his future. Little did she know what was in the offing until another chance for love and romance came along again and maybe the last "Duck on the Stream." A Nordic way of life from the ski slopes to the shores of Scandinavia, crowded into her unsuspecting way of life.
