Johnny Winter And Live is an album recorded live during the Fillmore East in New York City and Pirate's World in Dania, Florida in 1970. It was released in May 1971. In its time, Johnny Winter And Live was an enormously popular live album, especially among high-school kids just starting to discover Blues-Rock in the early '70s. The album is probably the best representation of Johnny Winter's sound from his prime years. The highlights are of considerable value, however, including a searing rendition of the Stones “Jumpin' Jack Flash” sandwiched between some much older repertory like “Great Balls of Fire”, “Long Tall Sally”, and “Johnny B. Goode”. The players generally try for something a little more subtle and interesting. Winter performed together with Bobby Caldwell, Rick Derringer, and Randy Jo Hobbs.
