A voice comes to five-year old Jonathan Fowler in the night; the voice of a child long dead who needs his help. As Jonathans parents and psychologist become involved, these odd nocturnal visits seem to happen less frequently...or at least that's what Jonathan says. Soon, the night arrives when the phantom childs spirit attempts to cross over into the world of the living, unknowingly being pursued by a presence of pure evil - a force so evil that once unleashed, it will stop at nothing until Jonathan, his family, and entire town are dead.Author BiographyBorn December 21st, 1964, Robert Howell is a native of South Carolina. Growing up in the small community of Timmonsville which lies just outside of Florence, he attended Roy Hudgens Academy in Lynchburg, West Florence High School and Horry-Georgetown Technical College. Developing an interest in horror films and fiction at a very early age, Howell began to write short stories on a regular basis while still in grammar school, often illustrating them as well or drawing detailed storyboards. As a child, he was raised on classic horror and the Sunday afternoon Thriller movies. As a teen, he became an avid reader of such authors as Dean Koontz, John Saul, and of course, Stephen King. In the late nineties, Howell wrote and illustrated an original comic strip entitled "The Single File" which ran locally in an entertainment weekly known as Five O'Clock Friday for over four years. The entire collection was published in book form in 2001. He has contributed his artwork to two childrens books. Howell soon returned to his love of horror fiction. The dark tales that he had been carrying in his head for years began to spill out. Before long, he started work on a collection of horror tales set in his home state. During this process, one particular story - that of a five-year old boy being contacted by the spirits of a murdered child and his killer - became the framework of his first novel, VOICES CARRY. Robert Howell now lives just outside the small town of Timmonsville, South Carolina.
