Minor Victories

Minor Victories self titled debut album. Initiated by Editors guitarist Justin Lockey, brief acquaintances, mutuality and serendipity have all played their part in the MINOR VICTORIES collaboration. Both in real and virtual terms, members have converged with Mogwai’s Stuart Braithwaite, Rachel Goswell from Slowdive, and the addition of Lockey’s brother James completing the line-up. Following the visual teaser that emerged last summer inciting much excitement both in Europe and the US, expectation shows little sign of abating. The first taste of the album came in the form of lead single ‘A Hundred Ropes’ which peaked at #8 on the NZ alt radio chart. The freedom, the immediacy, the swapping of ideas and incredibly, the fact that all four members have barely spent any time together recording or writing only adds to the heart of the project. MINOR VICTORIES unveils the real essence of what a group of talented individuals unshackled by convention can attain. Contributions feature a spectrum of musical tastes that converge from various parts of the UK and US unveiling something beyond the original vision of any of the contributors that pushes new boundaries and new sounds into hitherto uncharted waters that are merely the first steps into the musical world of MINOR VICTORIES
