These beautiful Adriatic destinations are rich with culture and history, and give you the opportunity to explore parts of Europe that tours often don’t get to see. ITINERARY Day 1: Australia – Paris (I/F) Congratulations! Today is the day that you depart for your overnight flight from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth to Paris, France – the City of Lights. Day 2: Arrive Paris Bonjour from Paris! Today you arrive in this most beautiful of cities. At the airport, you will be met by a tour operator and transferred to your hotel. Settle in and enjoy the rest of the evening by resting, relaxing or exploring the local area. Day 3: Paris – Reims – Luxembourg (B) Today you will be whisked away through the stunning French countryside to Reims, the capital of Paris’ Champagne region. You will visit Reim’s Notre Dame Cathedral, before continuing on to Luxembourg. Upon arrival you will take an orientation tour to see the Place de Constitution, the canyon in the city and the Adolphe Bridge. Day 4: Luxembourg – Trier – Koblenz – Frankfurt (B) After breakfast this morning, you will take a short drive from Luxembourg to the beautiful city of Trier in Germany’s Southwest. Also known as ‘Second Rome’, Trier is Germany’s oldest city and the birthplace of the famous philosopher Karl Marx. See Porta Nigra, the best preserved Roman city gates north of the Alps, before continuing on to stunning Koblenz where the Rhine and Mosel rivers meet. You could purchase tickets to the optional Rhine Cruise along the scenic waterways, before continuing the drive through the gorgeous countryside to Frankfurt. Optional Activity: Rhine Cruise Board a magical cruise along the Rhine – one of the most picturesque rivers in all of Europe. Day 5: Frankfurt – Bonn – Cologne – Amsterdam (B) After a fun and comfortable night in Frankfurt, you will continue on by road and watch the landscape change today as the tour heads out of Germany and into the Netherlands. Enjoy the first stop at Bonn with a visit to the historic Town Hall and Ludwig Van Beethoven Haus, then continue on to view the stunning Cathedral in Cologne, before you arrive later on in beautiful Amsterdam. Day 6: Amsterdam – Day Trip to Zaanse Schans (B) Today you will enjoy a scenic drive through the Dutch countryside to the popular village of Zaanse Schans. Visit a Clogs Factory, Cheese Farm and some authentic Dutch windmills. Later, watch the cutting and polishing of precious stones at a diamond factory in Amsterdam. Later you can explore Amsterdam at leisure on your own, or join an optional activity of the day. Optional Activity: Canal Cruise Finish off your days’ touring with a scenic cruise through Amsterdam’s famous canal network. Optional Activity: Red Light District Later this evening, those with a curious mind can join an optional excursion to the infamous Red Light District to see a live show. Day 7: Amsterdam – Brussels – Paris (B) After breakfast today you will depart Amsterdam and travel to Brussels, Belgium’s capital city. Discover the fascinating architectural and historical highlights including the Atomium, Royal Place and Manneken Pis. Enjoy free time later to explore by foot, shop for souvenirs, or get around some famous Belgian Beer or delicious crispy waffles. You will arrive later today back in mesmerising Paris. Day 8: Paris / Versailles Day Tour (B) Today you get to know the real Paris. Kick off your day by exploring the iconic Arc de Triomphe, Place de la Concorde and Champs Elysees. You will have a quick photo stop at the Eiffel Tower before transferring to the glorious Palace of Versailles. This stunning building was the seat of power of French kings from 1682, and the sheer magnitude and opulence of the structure is a wonder to behold. Return to your hotel later in Paris, or check out some of the city’s famous nightlife. Day 9: Paris – Venice (B) After breakfast this morning you will able do some last minute sightseeing or window shopping before transferring to the airport in the late afternoon. From here, you will board your scheduled regional flight from Paris to Venice. Day 10: Venice – Embark Rhapsody of the Seas (B, D) Wake this morning refreshed and ready to explore the stunning city of Venice. Famous for its glittering network of canals, Venice is a haven for art, culture, history and all things quintessentially Italian. You have the morning free, but at midday you will be picked up at your hotel and transferred to the cruise terminal to check in to the Rhapsody of the Seas! Day 11: At Sea – Dubrovnik (B, L, D) Welcome aboard! You’ve said Ciao to Venice and you’ll now have every opportunity to enjoy the 11 decks, 8 pools, 8 bars and lounges and state of the art facilities aboard this luxury cruise liner. Today’s port stop is Dubrovnik, Croatia. Set between cobalt seas and the rugged Dinaric Alps, Dubrovnik is a medieval delight. Melt away your land-based stresses at the day spa, or simply relax poolside with a book and a cocktail. Day 13: Ephesus (Kusadasi) (B, L, D) Today you’ll make a port stop in Kusadasi, Turkey. This picturesque seaside town is your gateway to the ancient city of Ephesus, once a major regional capital of the ancient Greek and Roman empires. Closer to port, explore the local culture with trips to a Venetian-Byzantine Castle, an Ottoman mosque and the Turkish old town. Day 14: Santorini (B, L, D) For fun, sun, sand and romance, Santorini is the king of the Greek islands. The volcanic scenery of the island gives it a mythic beauty second to no other in the region. See the high cliffs and deep blue bay as you sail into port, and spend the day here at leisure enjoying the red sand beaches and the chilled out local vibe. The ship departs at 5pm tonight. Day 15: Katakolon (B, L, D) Today is a very special day as you will have the opportunity to visit Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. Imagine the high priestesses as they lit the olympic torch of old, and visit the relics of what was once one of the most celebrated sacred sites in the ancient world. The port of Katakolon is a laid-back seaside town of waterfront cafes, shops, galleries and a quiet beach, where those fancying a quaint coastal retreat can while away the days in sun soaked bliss. Day 16: At Sea (B, L, D) Aboard the Rhapsody of the Seas, dining is about more than just food. Think ambience, variety and the flexibility to decide what you want and when you want it. Many people hail the food as one of the most memorable parts of the cruise, and the multiple cuisines and venues on board will have you spoilt for choice. Day 17: At Sea (B) This morning the ship docks back in Venice at 6.45am. From here, you will be transferred to the airport to board your scheduled international flight back to Australia.
