Latina Sanson Wooden Ship Model Kit

The Artesania Latina Sanson is a wooden boat model that accurately recreates the real life tugboat down to the finest detail. The Sanson is an ocean going tug from the end of the 19th century, but used well into the 20th. It was powered by a steam boiler that could develop 2000hp and reach speeds of 14 knots. It was fitted with large fenders at the bow and along the sides. Generally, its function was not so much to tow but rather to “push” the transatlantic giants. The Artesania Latina Sanson wooden boat kit is of easy/medium difficulty build, recommended for any modeller. The kit includes laser cut frames for keel & bulkheads, and exotic wood strip for hull planking. Also included is the wooden deck planking, masts and spars, metal and wooden fittings and rigging cord. The instruction booklet is very detailed, taking you through every step of construction. Intricately detailed tugboat model replicates such details as the windlass, cloth fender lashings, canvas lashings for the lifeboats Brass navigation lights and much more. All wood construction features African Walnut, Sapelia, Ramin and Coral woods. Brass hardware such as portholes, turnbuckles and winches.
