Zoë Boccabella grew up in Brisbane in the 1970s and 80s. As a teenager, Zoë wanted to be like everyone else. She refused to call her grandmother Nonna, resisted learning Italian, and even dyed her dark hair blonde. Then Zoë travels to Italy to stay in the house that has belonged to her family for several centuries. About the Author: Zoë Boccabella was born and grew up in Brisbane. She has travelled extensively though Brisbane remains home. Writing chose her from an early age and after attempting her first ‘novel’, Tragedy Island at age seven, she has continued to write. Zoë has worked as a writer and researcher for universities, the government and ad agencies. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in literature and sociology, and a Master of Philosophy in diasporic writing. The early influences of her large, spirited Italian-Australian family inspire her writing, together with return journeys to Europe.
