Special Shapes: a Flip the Flap Book

One of a series of four fun flap books featuring a colourful range of typically zany Dr. Seuss characters, introducing children to simple concepts such as shapes and time. Using a range of Dr. Seuss characters with bright, bold illustrations and simple rhyming text, this sturdy board book introduces pre-readers to the concept of shapes -- round shapes, square shapes, star shapes and more. A flap to flip on every page adds to the fun. Author Biography Theodor Seuss Geisel - better know to millions of his fans as Dr. Seuss - was born the son of a park superintendant in Springfield, Massachussetts, in 1904. After studying at Dartmouth College, New Hampshire, and later at Oxford University in England, he became a magazine cartoonist and later went into advertising. He soon turned his many talents to writing children's books, and his first book, And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street, was published in 1937. His greatest claim to fame was the one and only The Cat in the Hat, published in 1957, the first of a successful range of early learning books known as Beginner Books.
