When I look back on my long life, I remember so many things. I remember the depression, poverty, a family death, my mother's tears, and the struggle just to put food on the table. Some things I like to forget. I loathe men who desperately pursue monetary gain just to have more than their neighbors. Not that I wouldn't like more myself, it's just that I cannot make it my god. The world can be ugly and much can be said about that. But a smiling child, another who believes in you, a beautiful woman, love, smooth relationships, people growing old around you without burdening their pain on you, never complaining and still have compassion for others, is what makes it all worth the relationships. And yes! animals, and even the plants breathe as we do. I am in my Twilight years now and remember so many things that still pervade my mind. I am a simple man with simply words. Let me tell you about the ones I remember in the only way I know how.
