Additionally, it was designed to operate without bridges over long range and keep up with main battle tanks. It would have been in its element in a landscape devastated by a full-scale nuclear exchange. Its service in smaller-scale conflicts against insurgent groups has been less salutary. Thin side armour, necessary for fording rivers, is a liability in desert conflicts. Kit features decals for Iraqi, Syrian, and Russian armed forces.
