Fruits Of The Vine 2014 Pinot Grigio

Varietal: Pinot Grigio Region: Yarra Valley Vintage: 2014 The 2014 edition of the Fruits Grigio has pushed the boundaries even further. Pink Moon refers to the colouration of the whole bunch pressed juice in 2014, a rarity like a Pink Moon, and the Nick Drake album of the same name. It was run straight to its fermentation tank where natural yeasts worked their magic and it remained for 12 months completing malolactic on its gross lees. The result? A bronze straw colour with a very rich nose of red-skinned apple, caramel, dried lees and malt. Complex and very obviously savoury. The real goal with this wine is to make texture the focus. Slippery and a little oily we have achieved that for sure but it is far from flabby as there is supporting acidity (despite the malo), fresh cut pear and the natural pithy phenolic of the solids and lees
