The Artesania Latina Scottish Maid wooden ship model accurately recreates the real life ship with a high level of detail. This wooden boat kit is recommended for modellers of novice skill level and above. In the late 19th century sail was under attack by steam. Built for speed, the Scottish Maid was an attempt to keep sail to the forefront and featured a fine sharp bow (called an Aberdeen) and a large sail area. A popular and attractive model. The kit includes laser cut frames for keel & bulkheads, and exotic wood strip for hull planking. Also included is the wooden deck planking, masts and spars, metal and wooden fittings. Cloth for the sails is included, as are rigging cord and flags. The instruction booklet is very detailed, taking you through every step of construction. Brass nails and metal deck fittings.
