Legend of the True King Book I: Cull of the Plague By: Dale E. West Would you betray your kingdom to save it? Richard Foxfire is a young soldier in the Dlorow army who discovers a terrible plot that will destroy the kingdom. But will anyone believe him? And what price will he pay as family and friends forsake him, a plague seeks to consume him, an undead army hunts him, and the truth is not what it seems. This tale is set on the fantasy world of Vastos in the small kingdom of Dlorow. Dlorow is divided into six regions with major cities located in each of those regions by the same name. Each region is governed by a High Counselor who is directly under the reign of King Hammell at the Royal City. The story unfolds in the region and city of Edgewood. Three soldiers stationed there find their way to a story teller who tells them a strange and mysterious tale. One soldier, Richard Foxfire, finds himself intrigued and embarks on what most would call a %u201Cfool%u2019s quest%u201D. He swears his allegiance to a foreign king, The True King, in order to save his beloved kingdom and himself from a plague. Little by little, the tale unfolds just as the old man had explained. Richard finds himself seeing things that he thought were impossible. A golden box is discovered which grants a person incredible power %u2013 the true power of the undead %u2013 but at what cost? Richard seeks a cure and convinces others to join him. This draws the attention of powerful and influential individuals from The Royal City. The soldiers are seen as traitors. They also draw the attention an undead army and a red dragon and its rider %u2013 a black rider in shadow armor. Yet, Richard%u2019s alliance with the True King is rewarded with mythical weapons, armor, and an ally - a dragon of pure water ridden by a knight of blue metallic armor. The conflict escalates to epic proportions and ends in tragedy and hope. And in the end, the story teller%u2019s prophesy is fulfilled. But, it is only the beginning. Book II: All Are Hunted %u2013 continues the drama (but that story is for a later time).
