Three years after 2% of the world's population abruptly disappeared without explanation, The Leftovers - from Damon Lindelof and acclaimed novelist Tom Perrotta - is the story of the people who didn't make the cut. Set in a small New York suburb, The Leftovers follows Justin Theroux as Kevin Garvey, a father of two and the chief of police, who is trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy when the notion no longer applies. While some people lose their faith, others find it - or something like it - as cults spring up across the country. While Garvey tries to keep his town safe and calm, the simmering anguish of the left cannot be quelled.
