What Duro-K is used for Duro-K tablets are used to provide extra potassium: for people who do not have enough potassium in their regular diet for people who have lost too much potassium from their bodies because of illness or treatment with certain medicines. Potassium is essential for life and health. Natural sources of potassium are found in bananas, avocados, raisins, cantaloupe melons, dried dates, apricots and dark-green leafy vegetables. Too much potassium can also be harmful. It is important to take Duro-K only as prescribed by your doctor. Duro-K dosage may need to be adjusted if your diet is rich in natural sources of potassium. However, never change your dosage without medical advice. Ask your doctor if you have any questions about why Duro-K has been prescribed for you. Your doctor may have prescribed it for another purpose. Duro-K is only suitable for adults. Duro-K should not be given to children as there is not enough information on its use in that age group. This medicine is not addictive. Before you take Duro-K When you must not take itDo not take Duro-K if you have an allergy to any of the ingredients listed at the end of this leaflet.
