With Your Earth, Your World, author and poet Fruzsina Varga encourages young readers to take responsibility for Mother Earth and all her creatures. Varga emphasizes the impact our daily actions have on the planet, and how we can change our behavior to make positive changes. Through easily understood but evocative poetry, Varga asks children what they think is more important, material gain or harmony with nature. Eye-catching illustrations accompany each poem, helping even the youngest readers understand how they can help the planet and learn to respect other creatures. Through word and image, Varga sends a message of love and harmony that, put into practice, shapes individual lives and helps bring balance and peace to our badly damaged planet. Charming and inspiring in their own right, Varga's poems come with a series of fun questions and "good cause" activities. Found at the back of the book, these questions help parents start thoughtful discussions with older children, while the activities promote caring for the Earth through play. Written with a young audience in mind, Varga's thoughtful poems will inspire readers of all ages to care for the planet. After all, it's Your Earth, Your World.Author BiographyFruzsina Varga was born and raised in Hungary. She lived the first ten years of her life under communism, which influenced her views of humanity and our tragic willingness to despoil the Earth for personal or political gain. At age twenty-two Fruzsina left Hungary to seek her life's purpose in the United States. She mastered English-her fifth language-and rediscovered her childhood love of poetry and writing. Your Earth, Your World is the first in a series of poetic books Fruzsina wrote to encourage the development of children's consciousness and personal growth. While preparing the series for publication, she lives in Los Angeles, teaching meditation, self-empowerment, and advanced spirituality classes. Fruzsina is also developing a nonprofit organization to help children awaken their inner gifts and talents.
