Many versions of it have been produced. One field modified version incorporates side armor, cab armor, and heavy mounted guns to provide superior fire support on counter-insurgency missions. The A-1 version is especially effective for this mission because of its large off-road tires. These tires make it agile over sand and lend the truck its “Big-Foot” nickname.
