Quick history lesson, Norman Jay set up the Good Times Sound System in 1981, the start of his 30 year residency at Notting Hill Carnival. Norman Jay can be considered one of the reasons the carnival is what it is today musically. He introduced more sounds to what was a predominantly Reggae dominated sound. Infusing the sounds of Funk, Soul, Hip Hop and Rare Groove into the mix. This compilation is another milestone in a career that has seen him DJ all around the world, appear on political show Question Time on the BBC, and get an MBE for his services to music, not a bad effort. Genre hopping as usual this should get most parties started the right way.
