1122 - Rye, Rye Miss American Pie

Rye whiskey is as American as apple pie, Chevy trucks and rock ’n’ roll. Pre-dating it’s more famous sibling, Bourbon, it is the original American whiskey, made in the early settlements on the East Coast, where the hardy rye grain thrived in the cold harsh climate. Rye whiskey has undergone a revival, propelled by cocktail culture and craft distillers, recreating traditional and authentic recipes that George Washington, himself a prolific distiller, would approve of.
