Why this kit matters

The M24 Chaffee was introduced in 1944 as a replacement for the ageing M5 Stuart, offering improved firepower, mobility, and crew comfort. Armed with a 75 mm gun, it provided U.S. reconnaissance units with a light tank capable of engaging a wider range of battlefield threats.

In the European Theater, the M24 proved effective during the final stages of World War II, combining speed with reliable performance. This Tamiya kit captures the design features that made the Chaffee a respected light tank and a key step in post-war armoured development.
