The Aoshima 1/72 Ki-100-I Type 5 Fighter Model 1 Ko is an unpainted, 1/72 scale plastic model assembly kit that precisely replicates the Army's last formal fighter aircraft with a square windshield. The kit includes a detailed cockpit and a pilot figure.
Key Features and Specifications:
- Scale: The model is a static display kit in 1:72 scale.
- Detailed Cockpit: The interior of the cockpit is precisely reproduced for an authentic look.
- Pilot Figure: A pilot figure is included in the kit.
- Windshield Type: This specific "Ko" (Model 1) variant features the distinctive square windshield. The "Otsu" (Model 2) version, also offered by Aoshima, features a teardrop-shaped windshield.
- Material: The kit components are made of injected plastic.
- Assembly and Painting: This is an unassembled and unpainted model kit, requiring separate purchase of adhesives, tools, and paints for completion.
- Historical Significance: The kit represents the real-world Kawasaki Ki-100 fighter, a highly effective Japanese aircraft developed late in World War II and primarily used as an interceptor against B-29 bombers.
