Designed for butterfly rearing this professional pop-up habitat cage has a square shape that stands upright securely without rocking making it a practical choice for classrooms homes and nature projects. Five fine mesh panels allow generous airflow while the clear vinyl viewing panel gives children students and families a close look at the fascinating life cycle from caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly including Monarch Painted Lady and Black Swallowtail species. The collapsible design folds flat for simple storage and repeated use and when opened it measures 15.7 x 15.7 x 23.6 inches offering a tall roomy interior with space for up to two large milkweed plants. The height helps newly emerged butterflies spread and dry their wings safely with less chance of damage. A large zipped side opening makes feeding and care straightforward and also allows an easy release back into the wild. A quick start guide is included to help beginners get started with confidence. Instructions 1. Take care when opening the large butterfly tent. After removing the elastic strap from around the folded circle the cube cage may spring open quickly so allow plenty of space and move fragile items away first. 2. After opening the mesh cage the PVC window may show fold lines from storage. To reduce creases warm the PVC gently with a hair dryer for around 5 minutes or place the panel in warm sunlight until the wrinkles relax. 3. Always close the cage door so the zips meet at the top centre. If a caterpillar is resting on one side of the zip this lets you open the other side instead. 4. Clean the mesh cage after any disease outbreak or at the end of the season by soaking it in a 5 bleach solution using 19 parts water to 1 part bleach for about 20 minutes. The cage can be soaked in a bath or laundry tub. 5. Rinse the butterfly habitat thoroughly with water then leave it to dry in the sun. Hang it on a clothesline or place a weight on the floor to stop it blowing away. 6. To fold the cage for storage place your hands on opposite upper corners and press one corner inward until the cage folds flat. 7. Store the folded cage flat in a cupboard under a bed or behind a sofa.
