Celestron Counterweight Advanced VX - 12 lb

Technical Details: Celestron 5.44 kg Counterweight Advanced VX (for 19mm Shaft)

Whether you're upgrading your mount setup or sourcing a replacement component, the counterweight plays a crucial role in balancing the weight of the optical tube (OTA) and any additional accessories on the opposing side of the Right Accession (RA Axis). If you're incorporating accessories into your telescope setup, such as a camera or guider, you may find the need to introduce extra counterweights to counterbalance the added weight. An imbalance on either side could potentially cause harm to your OTA and setup, the motor gear, and could even compromise tracking accuracy. By adding more counterweights, you can enhance the system's responsiveness by minimising mass inertia. However, it's essential to evenly distribute the counterweights along the shaft to prevent damage to your setup and ensure it's a cost-effective solution for your telescope setup. This particular counterweight is equipped with a robust knurled knob lock to secure it safely on the counterweight shaft and is designed to accommodate 19mm counterweight shafts.
