About this product
Make way for Sam Peckinpah’s 1978 action-comedy, now roaring onto 4K UHD in a NEW 4K restoration.
Kris Kristofferson stars as Martin ‘Rubber Duck’ Penwald, forced to go on the run after an encounter with corrupt Sheriff ‘Dirty’ Lyle Wallace (Ernest Borgnine). As other truckers hear the news, the decision is made to form a mile-long ‘convoy’, to take a stand against the abusive sheriff and the problematic 55mp/h speed limit. Teeming with explosive cargo, a highly public standoff escalates to a point of no return…
Also starring Ali MacGraw, Burt Young, Franklyn Ajaye and Madge Sinclair, this thrilling film was Peckinpah’s most commercially successful venture. Although Peckinpah’s rough cut was rejected by EMI and is now lost, we are proud to include a 115 minute Extended Cut on a bonus Blu-ray disc in our release, featuring five extra minutes of footage.
Our strictly Limited Edition 3-Disc Hardbox is jam-packed with brand NEW Special Features that delve into the history of this classic piece of film history with Peckinpah scholar Mike Siegel and expert contributors.
