When city girl Milly's life falls apart, leaving her broke, homeless, and heartbroken, she retreats to the countryside after inheriting her late neighbour's dilapidated farm. Between bad weather, a comical run-in with an elf-like figure named Pip, and the well-meaning attention of her charming neighbour, the Commander, Milly starts to wonder if rural life might not be so bad after all. That hope quickly fades when she sees the farm. It is unlivable, unsellable, and feels like yet another burden. Jack, a kind but pragmatic tenant horse trainer, believes the land is worth saving. Milly, however, wants to leave as soon as possible, especially when the Commander suggests selling the farm to him. With mounting bills and no alternatives, she reluctantly agrees. But as Milly spends more time there, she begins to notice the farm's hidden beauty, its place in the local community, and her growing connection to its history. Memories of her neighbour resurface, and she starts to question whether selling is the right choice. Jack, convinced rare birds inhabit the land, hopes it can still be protected. When conservationists find no evidence, Milly prepares to sign the farm away. Jack supports her decision until a nagging doubt pushes him to investigate further. With Pip's help, he uncovers the truth: the rare birds do exist, and the Commander has been hiding them to secure the sale. In a race against time, Jack stops the deal and exposes the deception, saving the farm. Milly finally understands why it was left to her. In the end, she finds not just a home, but a sense of purpose and perhaps even love
