Danish Custom Timber Oak Wood Bed Frame

A broad headboard. A lighter touch below.

The Danish Custom Timber Oak Wood Bed Frame pairs a generous, uninterrupted headboard with the restrained lines of Scandinavian furniture. Its wide timber panel gives the grain room to run across the bed, while the low footboard keeps the outline open. Rounded foot-end legs sit back from the outer edge of the frame, softening its rectangular shape and giving the base a lighter appearance from across the room.

That uncluttered profile is supported by a substantial Victorian Ash Oak structure and heavy-duty solid pine slats. The recessed legs leave the timber border clearly defined, so the bed feels solid without looking heavy. Your choice of mattress fit, leg height and finish lets you make more of the oak or keep the overall silhouette compact.

Make the Danish Your Own

Choose your size.
Available in Single, King Single, Double, Queen, King and Super King. For a custom size, send us your mattress dimensions and room measurements for a personalised quote.

Shape the mattress fit.
Choose 2cm sit-in for a mattress that settles slightly into the frame, leaving a visible timber border around the base. With sit-flush, the mattress edges align with the frame for a smooth, streamlined outline. The flush design is approximately 10cm narrower and 5cm shorter overall than the recessed version for the same mattress size.

Set the leg height.
Under-bed clearance is the open space from the floor to the bottom of the side rails. Choose 5cm, 10cm, 15cm or 20cm: shorter legs bring the bed closer to the floor, while taller legs leave more room for cleaning underneath.

Choose your finish.
The finish changes how the grain and rounded legs read in your room, from a pale, understated look to a richer timber statement.

Tinted lacquer: Choose a light, natural-looking shade, a warm mid-tone or a deeper brown to bring out the timber’s character. The lacquer seals the surface with a smooth protective coating; black and white finishes are also available at an additional cost.

Livos Kunos natural oil: Upgrade to Livos Kunos Natural Oil Sealer, made with linseed oil to deepen the timber’s colour and grain. It creates a satin sheen, bringing the natural markings into sharper focus, while keeping the bedroom chemical-free and allergy friendly.

Natural variations in grain and tone mean each bed takes on its own character, even when the same finish is selected.

The Structure Behind the Design

The side rails, legs, frame borders and low footboard are solid Victorian Ash Oak. The broad headboard uses a timber veneer panel with solid timber structural components, creating a wide, clean surface that lets the grain take centre stage.

Heavy-duty solid pine slats support the mattress, with spaces between them for airflow. The support arrangement is matched to the bed size:

  • Solid pine slats: 90mm wide × 35mm thick, with approximately 70mm spacing.
  • Single and Double:
