About this product
Every time there’s a World War II anniversary, the spotlight falls once again on Glenn Miller. Not only because the leader of the best-loved dance band of all time enlisted in 1942 in a personal crusade to entertain Allied troops with his own distinctive brand of music, but also because he disappeared over the English Channel two years later while pursuing the dream of taking his orchestra to liberated Europe.
Whether delivering the famous ‘(There’ll Be Blue Birds Over) The White Cliffs Of Dover’, or setting the dancefloor moving with ‘Pennsylvania 6-5000’ or ‘The Woodpecker Song’, Miller’s merry men set the mood of not only his fellow troops but whole nations.
He, and they, will never be forgotten. This 4CD set features all of his very best recordings
