• Compact and Intuitive Construction
• Manual Focus for L-Mount

The Venus Optics Laowa 180mm f/4.5 1.5x Ultra-Macro APO combines a long-reach telephoto perspective with greater-than-life-size macro capability. This unique design allows photographers to capture intricate details from both close-up viewpoints and extended shooting distances with equal precision.

1.5x Ultra-Macro Magnification

Designed primarily as a macro lens, this telephoto offers an impressive 1.5:1 maximum magnification that renders subjects larger than life-size. A minimum focusing distance of 30 centimetres, paired with a minimum working distance of 14.7 centimetres, provides additional room for lighting and makes it easier to photograph moving subjects.

Apochromatic Optical Design

Supporting its high magnification performance, the lens incorporates an apochromatic optical design that significantly reduces colour fringing. This ensures excellent clarity, accurate colour reproduction, and finely resolved detail when shooting at both close-up and long-range focusing distances.

Versatile 180mm Focal Length

The useful 180mm focal length delivers a narrow field of view well suited to portraits, distant subjects, and isolating fine details from a comfortable working distance. Its f/4.5 maximum aperture balances brightness and portability, offering sufficient light for handheld shooting in daylight while remaining easy to carry during travel.

Compact and Intuitive Construction

Despite its advanced optical capabilities, the lens remains surprisingly compact and lightweight, weighing just over half a kilogram and measuring approximately 13.5 centimetres in length. An assignable lens function button on the side allows quick access to selected exposure or camera controls, while an integrated USB-C port enables convenient firmware updates.

Manual Focus for L-Mount

This L-Mount version of the lens supports manual focusing only, providing precise control when working at high magnifications. For added stability and critical sharpness during ultra-macro shooting, the lens is compatible with an optional lens support.
