Key Features

• High-End Optical Performance
• Fast and Accurate Autofocus
• Customisable Function Control
• Flexible Filter and Support System
• Compact and Weather-Sealed Design

Designed for full-frame cameras, the Laowa 200mm f/2 AF FF Telephoto Prime Lens from Venus Optics delivers exceptional background separation, strong compression, and impressive low-light performance in an accessible and affordable package. Its fast f/2 maximum aperture and precise autofocus make it well suited to demanding stills and video applications.

High-End Optical Performance

Built with advanced optical elements, this 200mm lens produces razor-sharp detail, smooth and creamy bokeh, and excellent depth control. Chromatic aberration is kept to a minimum, ensuring clean edges, accurate colour reproduction, and consistent image quality even in high-contrast scenes, making it ideal for portraits, wildlife, and cinematic storytelling.

Fast and Accurate Autofocus

The lens features highly accurate autofocus designed to perform reliably in both still and motion capture. A selectable focus range allows users to switch between full focusing or a limited range from 1.5 metres to infinity, helping to speed up autofocus when tracking distant subjects. A dedicated toggle lets you move seamlessly between autofocus and manual focus to suit your shooting style.

Customisable Function Control

A front-mounted function button can be assigned to frequently used camera settings such as ISO, white balance, autofocus mode, or drive mode. This intuitive control layout enables quicker adjustments while shooting, helping maintain focus on composition and timing rather than menu navigation.

Flexible Filter and Support System

The lens includes a 105mm front filter thread for attaching polarising or neutral density filters, along with a 43mm rear filter holder that reduces weight and overall filter cost. A dedicated lens support bracket with an Arca-type mounting system provides enhanced stability when mounted on a tripod and allows easy orientation changes.

Compact and Weather-Sealed Design

Despite its bright aperture, the lens maintains a compact profile, measuring approximately 17.5 centimetres in length and weighing around 1.77 kilograms. A robust weather-sealed construction protects against dust and moisture, while a water- and dirt-repellent coating on the front element ensures reliable performance in challenging outdoor conditions.
