The Larissa Custom Timber Bed Frame gives the natural character of pine a defined, architectural setting. Its broad headboard panel sits back within a substantial rectangular border, creating a fine shadow line that brings depth to the timber without ornate detailing. A matching framed footboard carries that same recessed detail through the base, while wide, straight legs give the bed a grounded, confident stance.

The solid New Zealand Pine supporting frame and heavy-duty pine slats provide a sturdy foundation for everyday use. Open space beneath the side rails keeps the substantial timber outline from feeling closed in, with your chosen leg height allowing the bed to sit low or leave more room underneath. The result is a practical custom timber bed whose character comes from its proportions, panel detailing and natural grain.

Choose the space beneath your bed.
Select 5cm, 10cm, 15cm, 20cm, 25cm, 30cm or 35cm clearance. This is the open space from the floor to the bottom of the side rails, determined by the exposed leg height. Shorter legs give Larissa a lower stance; taller options provide more room to reach underneath for cleaning or to accommodate suitable storage boxes. The 25cm, 30cm and 35cm options carry an additional charge.

Choose your finish.
A pale finish softens the contrast between the recessed panel and its border, while a deeper shade gives the straight-edged frame a more pronounced outline.

Tinted lacquer: Choose from a wide selection of pine colours, from lighter natural-looking tones to warm browns and deeper stains. The lacquer seals the timber with a smooth protective coating; black and white finishes are available at an additional cost.

Natural variations in grain, knots and tone give each pine bed its own markings, so the same finish can look subtly different from one piece to the next.

The Timber and Support Beneath the Design

Solid New Zealand Pine forms the entire bed including the headboard , side rails, legs and low footboard. The recessed headboard uses a pine panel with no veneer within its solid timber surround, giving Larissa a broad grain surface framed by clean, substantial edges.

Beneath the mattress, heavy-duty solid pine slats provide support with spaces between them for airflow. The slat and support arrangement depends on the size:

• Solid pine slats: 90mm wide × 35mm thick, with approximately 70mm between slats.
• Single and Double: 11 slats, without centre support as standard.
• King Single: 12 slats, without centre support as standard.
• Queen: 12 slats with centre support beneath them.
• King and Super King: 12 slats with centre support and two additional support legs reaching the floor.
