Man in the Hills captures Burning Spear at a pivotal stage in his career, further establishing Winston Rodney as one of reggae’s most distinctive and visionary voices. Recorded with the support of producer Jack Ruby, the album blends meditative rhythms, rich horn arrangements, and deeply reflective songwriting.
Drawing inspiration from rural Jamaican life, Rastafarian teachings, and African heritage, the record conveys a strong sense of identity and spiritual purpose. Highlights include the title track, “Door Peep,” and “Black Soul.” Revered for its depth, sincerity, and musical craftsmanship, Man in the Hills remains a roots reggae masterpiece. Now in limited edition green vinyl.
