QampAnbspQ What is the difference between IC and ID cardsA IC cards operate at a frequency of 13.56 MHz whilst ID cards operate at 125 kHz. The two types are not interchangeable please ensure you select the product corresponding to your requirements.Q What is the difference between an authorised card and a duplicate cardA An authorised card also known as a property management card is available in both IC and ID formats. It must be registered with the property management system before use otherwise it will not grant access. A duplicate card by contrast can be programmed by copying data from another card onto it for use.Q The card does not respond when scanned or it ceases to function after a single use. Alternatively the original card stops working after duplication.A Some access control or lift systems are equipped with firewall or rolling code protection to prevent duplication. You may wish to try using a firewall-bypass card or rolling code-compatible programming device for duplication.Q The card was duplicated successfully but does not work.A ID and IC cards are available with various chip types and frequencies. Certain access control systems employ firewall protection or special chipsets duplication may appear successful yet the card remains non-functional. Please contact our customer service team or consult the Access Control Card Summary below for further assistance.Q The ID card cannot be read or duplicated.A ID cards are manufactured in multiple frequencies including 125 kHz 250 kHz 350 kHz and 500 kHz. The most common frequency on the market is 125 kHz consequently a card may be read yet fail to write. This may be resolved by using a key fob of the same frequency.Q The card is encrypted.A Encryption is most commonly applied to IC cards with data secured at the sector level. Decoding via a compatible machine is therefore required for duplication. Encryption is less prevalent in ID cards. Should the encryption prove complex please contact our customer service team for assistance.Q The card ceases to function after a single use.A This typically indicates that the access control system is equipped with firewall protection which has detected and blocked the duplicated card. This may be resolved by using a firewall-bypass card.Q The original card stopped working after successful duplication.A This is generally caused by a rolling code anti-duplication system within the access control system. Upon use the rolling code is transferred to the duplicated card thereby invalidating the code on the original card. This requires a rolling code-compatible duplication machine. Please contact our customer service team for further details.NOTEAccess cards and card readers are supplied solely for lawful purposes.
