This lens features an automatic aperture with electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism and a rounded diaphragm opening consisting of seven blades. It provides an aperture range of f/16 at minimum to f/2.8 at maximum. It consists of eight elements in six groups, including three aspherical lenses. This lens is incorporated with all-element focusing system and utilises a stepping motor . It also allows a minimum focusing distance of 0.2 metres from focal plane, and a 0.19x maximum reproduction ratio.
