No Place of Warmth isn’t just the third album from Dallas, Texas’ sentinels of “Cold School Death Metal” — it’s a declaration, a journey through a graveyard of pain, loss, and revenge that’s reconfigured into a statement of empowerment, strength, and self-worth.
Produced and mixed by Josh Schroeder (Lorna Shore), Frozen Soul has honed its arsenal to its deadliest edge yet. Tracks like the crushing “Dreadnought” (featuring Sanguisugabogg’s Devin Swank) and the anthemic “Killin’ Time (Until It’s Time to Kill)” hit with a brutality and clarity the band has only hinted at until now.
After circling the globe with Amon Amarth, Cannibal Corpse, and Killswitch Engage, No Place of Warmth is the record poised to cement Frozen Soul’s place in American death metal permafrost.
The band’s inner circle adds even further bite: Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance) unleashes feral snarls on the title track, while Robb Flynn (Machine Head) fuels the war cry of “Invoke War.”
This is Frozen Soul at their heaviest — No Place of Warmth is a relentless snowplow of a record, set on a path to conquest.
