A recessed headboard gives the Oxford Custom Timber Bed Frame its depth, setting a broad expanse of solid pine inside a clean rectangular surround. The narrow shadow around the panel adds definition without busy decoration, while the low footboard keeps the outline open at the end of the mattress. Straight rails and square legs carry that orderly shape through the base, creating a bed with the familiar warmth of timber and a crisp, contemporary finish.

Made entirely from solid New Zealand Pine, Oxford puts the natural grain and occasional knots at the centre of its design. Its substantial frame and thick pine slats provide dependable support for everyday use, while your choice of mattress fit and leg clearance lets you give the same design a lower, more grounded stance or a lighter appearance with more space beneath.

Choose your mattress fit.
With the sit-inside option, the bottom of the mattress sits 2cm below the top of the frame, leaving a timber edge visible around it. With sit flush, the mattress rests on top of the base and its sides align with the frame’s outer edges, creating a continuous outline without a projecting timber ledge. Both options retain Oxford’s recessed headboard and low foot end.

Set the clearance.
Choose 5cm, 10cm, 15cm or 20cm beneath the side rails. This follows the exposed leg height, from the floor to the bottom of the rail, so you can picture the space available for cleaning or suitable storage boxes. Lower settings give the bed a more grounded stance; taller settings open up the space below.

Choose your finish.
Light shades keep the recessed headboard soft and understated; darker colours make its border and shadow line more pronounced.

Tinted lacquer: Choose from a wide range of pine colours, from light, natural-looking shades to warm browns and deeper tones. The lacquer colours and seals the timber with a smooth protective coating; black and white finishes are available at an additional cost.

Natural knots, grain patterns and differences in tone are part of solid pine’s character. The same stain can show subtle variations across the headboard, rails and foot end.

Framed Detail, Solid Support

Oxford is made entirely from solid New Zealand Pine, including the headboard, footboard, side rails, legs and structural frame. The pine headboard is solid timber, with no veneer panels, giving the bed consistent material quality throughout.

Heavy-duty solid pine slats form a firm supporting base, with gaps for airflow beneath the mattress. The support system is matched to the bed size:

• Slat dimensions: 90mm wide × 35mm thick, with approximately 70mm between slats.
• Single and Double: 11 solid pine slats, without centre support as standard.
• King Single: 12 solid pine slats, without centre support as standard.
