Why this kit matters

The BM-13 Katyusha was one of the most recognisable artillery weapons used by the Soviet Union during World War II. Mounted on various truck platforms, it delivered rapid salvos of rockets that had a strong psychological and tactical effect on the battlefield.

The British built W.O.T. 8 truck, supplied to the Soviet Union through Lend Lease, became one of the platforms used to carry the BM-13 launcher. This combination highlights the international cooperation of the war and the evolution of mobile rocket artillery.
