The Scandinavia Custom Timber Bed Frame combines a gently sloped headboard with a raised, square-profile footboard, bringing a relaxed European influence to solid pine furniture. Open horizontal sections break up the timber panels, giving the design a lighter appearance while retaining a clearly defined outline around the bed. The headboard’s gentle angle softens the straight rails and geometric foot end, adding interest that becomes more apparent from the side.

Solid New Zealand Pine runs throughout the bed, from the headboard and footboard to the rails, legs and substantial mattress slats. Its natural knots and variations in grain bring warmth to the clean design, with darker stains making those contrasts more subtle while preserving the character of real timber. Your selected under-bed clearance adjusts the open space beneath the rails, so the proportions can suit both your room and your practical needs.

Start with the size.
Choose Single, King Single, Double, Queen, King or Super King to suit your mattress and room. For dimensions outside the listed range, send us your measurements for a personalised quote.

Set the clearance.
Choose 5cm, 10cm, 15cm, 20cm, 25cm, 30cm or 35cm beneath the side rails. This follows the exposed leg height, from the floor to the bottom of the rail, so you can picture the space available for cleaning or suitable storage boxes. Lower settings give the bed a more grounded stance; taller settings open up the space below. The 25cm, 30cm and 35cm options carry an additional charge.

Choose your finish.
Lighter colours give the panels a fresh, natural appearance; deeper browns make the open horizontal details stand out and soften the contrast of the grain.

Tinted lacquer: Choose from a wide range of pine colours, from light, natural-looking shades to warm browns and deeper tones. The lacquer colours and seals the timber with a smooth protective coating; black and white finishes are available at an additional cost.

Natural knots, grain patterns and differences in tone are part of solid pine’s character. The same stain can show subtle variations across the headboard, rails and foot end.

Clear Materials, Dependable Support

Scandinavia is made entirely from solid New Zealand Pine, including the headboard, footboard, side rails, legs and structural frame. The pine headboard is solid timber, with no veneer panels, giving the bed consistent material quality throughout.

Heavy-duty solid pine slats form a firm supporting base, with gaps for airflow beneath the mattress. The support system is matched to the bed size:

• Slat dimensions: 90mm wide × 35mm thick, with approximately 70mm between slats.
• Single and Double: 11 solid pine slats, without centre support as standard.
• King Single: 12 solid pine slats, without centre support as standard.
• Queen: 12 solid pine slats with centre support beneath them.
• King and Super King: 12 solid pine slats with centre support and two additional support legs reaching the floor.
• Optional reinforcement: Heavy-duty centre support can be added to Single, King Single and Double when ordering.
• Combined weight capacity: Up to 380kg for Double, Queen, King and Super King bases.
