Australian rockers Greystone Canyon return with their third full-length "Something Borrowed.Something New.
As the title suggests, the album is a hybrid collection: new Greystone Canyon originals sit alongside reinterpretations of classic tracks by artists that shaped their identity. Highlights include UFO's "Doctor, Doctor", ZZ Top's "Just Got Paid", Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song", Thin Lizzy's "Suicide", and Neil Young's "Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)", all delivered with respect yet imbued with the band's own power and tone.
Equally strong are the originals: "Drives Us", a road-ready hard rocker with an anthemic chorus; "Friend of the Fox", exploring atmospheric textures and Floyd-ian nuances; and "Stealing Our Freedom", a protest-driven closer that blends southern flair with heavy riffing, channelling both Lynyrd Skynyrd and Megadeth.
For fans of Led Zeppelin, Ozzy Osbourne and Thin Lizzy, this record is a rare throwback to a time when albums were alive with energy, spontaneity and personality.
Greystone Canyon's blend of heartfelt songwriting, classic influences and live-recorded honesty makes "Something Borrowed.Something New" a release perfectly positioned for audiences seeking genuine rock music in a digital age.
