Overview
During the first half of WWII, the Sd.Kfz. 232 "8-Rad" (8-wheeler) was a vital long-range reconnaissance vehicle for the German Army. With its complex 8-wheel drive and steering, it had excellent mobility, and its large "bed frame" antenna was a distinctive feature of its command and radio role. The 8-Rad truly showed its full potential in the vast deserts of North Africa with the famed Afrika Korps.
This classic 1/35 scale kit from Tamiya is a detailed replica of the Sd.Kfz. 232, specifically themed for the North African campaign. The model includes premium features such as a turned metal gun barrel and photo-etched parts for finer details like light guards. To create an instant diorama, the kit also comes with two figures in tropical uniforms, a host of desert-themed accessories, and four different marking options.
