Overview

The Sd.Kfz. 223 was a German light armoured car that served as a vital long-range command and reconnaissance vehicle during World War II. Equipped with a distinctive, large "bed frame" antenna for its radio set, it was a common sight with the fast-moving Panzer divisions. It saw extensive service in all theatres, including the harsh desert environment of the North African campaign with the famous Afrika Korps.

This classic 1/35 scale kit from Tamiya is a detailed replica of the Sd.Kfz. 223, specifically themed for the North African front. The model's highlight is the inclusion of a high-quality photo-etched mesh part for an authentic and scale-accurate recreation of the large frame antenna. To complete the desert scene, the kit includes a commander figure in a tropical uniform (shorts and lace-up shoes) and a host of accessories like jerry cans and camouflage netting.
