Overview
The Sd.Kfz. 251 half-track, nicknamed the "Hanomag", was a key element in the success of the German Blitzkrieg in World War II. As an armoured personnel carrier, it became the reliable "feet" for the Panzergrenadiers, allowing them to keep pace with the advancing tank units. The Ausf.D variant, introduced in 1943, featured a simplified construction to improve productivity, with around 10,000 being produced and used on all fronts until the end of the war.
This 1/48 scale Tamiya kit realistically models the powerful, angular style of the Sd.Kfz.251/1 Ausf.D. The open-topped fighting compartment reveals a detailed interior with seats and floorboards, while the suspension is detailed yet easy to assemble. The kit features connected, assembly-type tracks for a realistic finish and includes two figures in winter clothing plus a host of accessories to bring your model or diorama to life.
