Shamir’s Ten is both a tribute to friendship and a communal passing of the torch.
Across ten years and ten albums, he’s bent genre to his will, from the neon sheen of Ratchet to the industrial scald of Heterosexuality. Now, he steps back, lending his singular voice to songs written by friends, turning their words into something uniquely his.
With live instrumentation and Allen Tate’s production, Ten is a raw, unfiltered love letter to the people who anchored him through the chaos. There’s warmth in its imperfections, catharsis in its surrender. This is the sound of an artist finally unburdened.
